Walt Disney Animation Studios is responsible for the production of the 2021 American computer-animated musical fantasy comedy film Encanto, and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures is in charge of its distribution. It was the 60th film that the studio had produced, and Jared Bush and Byron Howard directed it. It was also co-directed by Charise Castro Smith, who co-wrote the screenplay with Bush. Yvett Merino and Clark Spencer produced it, and it featured original songs performed by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Voice actors Stephanie Beatriz, Mara Cecilia Botero, John Leguizamo, Mauro Castillo, Jessica Darrow, Angie Cepeda, Carolina Gaitán, and Wilmer Valderrama are featured in the movie. The story of Encanto centers on a Colombian family called the Madrigals, which spans multiple generations and is headed by a matriarch named Botero. All of the Madrigals’ children and grandchildren, with the exception of Mirabel Madrigal (Beatriz), are bestowed with supernatural abilities as a result of a miracle, which allows them to serve better the residents of their rural community, which is known as the Encanto. As soon as Mirabel finds out that her family’s magic is fading, she makes it her mission to discover why this is occurring and to restore the magic to both her family and their once-magical home.
